First Appointment

After booking your first Chiropractic appointment at Littlehampton Natural Health Centre appointment you will receive 2 emails from us, the first confirming your appointment is booked and the second will contain a link to an online questionnaire asking about medical history, daily activities, medication, and surgeries, giving your Chiropractor a chance to assess your notes prior to your first appointment.

At your first appointment, we like to spend some time getting to know you, your reasons for visiting the clinic, and what you are hoping to achieve. Before we can perform any adjustments your Chiropractor will run through your online questionnaire, building a detailed personal history and also discussing your symptoms in detail, helping them build a complete picture of you.

Your Chiropractor will then perform a physical examination to get a good overview of how your body is functioning. This physical can include assessing your joint range of motion, muscle strength, gait, skin sensations, and neurological function. They will also perform some specific orthopedic tests to help us determine the cause of your symptoms. If necessary the Chiropractor can also run through a cardiovascular, respiratory, and abdominal screening.

At the end of the examination, your Chiropractor will explain their initial findings and if appropriate perform a relief adjustment. Depending on the results of the examination your Chiropractor may find it necessary to refer you for additional investigations which could include either X-Ray or MRI imaging, should this be the case your Chiropractor will discuss this with you fully. After your first appointment, your Chiropractor will study your case and determine the best course of action for you.

Report of Findings

Your next appointment will be a report of findings where your Chiropractor will explain their findings in detail, what they mean, adjust fully and discuss their recommended treatment plan. Your recommended treatment plan will depend on all of the information your Chiropractor has gained through your history, symptoms, examination, and required diagnostic imaging.

Checklist for new or returning Chiropractic patients:

If you haven’t visited the Health Centre for a few years we always like to spend time catching up, seeing what's changed and updating your personal history!

List of current medications and dosage
Details of diagnosed conditions (including dates)
Details of operations and other medical procedures (including dates)
Private medical insurance details (if applicable)

We will then perform a physical examination to get a good overview of how your body is aligned, how your joints are moving and work out what is causing your symptoms. The physical can include assessing your joint range of motion, muscle strength, gait, skin sensations, neurological function and perform some specific orthopaedic tests. If necessary we will also run through a cardiovascular, respiratory and abdominal screening. These tests will help us get an overall view of your health and help us with our diagnosis.

We will then explain the findings from our tests and explain our full care plan – if you are still happy we can proceed with treatment.
