Kinesiology in Littlehampton
Kinesiology is a form of Functional Medicine, it is concerned with encouraging optimal function of the body and its systems, including cardiovascular, respiratory, digestion, endocrine, nervous, lymphatic, reproductive, renal and skeletal. Kinesiology focuses on how each system is functioning individually and how they are working together. This is done through testing different muscle circuits by checking specific movement which indicates how that neurological circuit fires or whether it is interrupted. Although it is often thought of as muscle testing it is essentially working on our neurological pathways and their biofeedback mechanism.
The most crucial element of Kinesiology is detecting the root cause of any given health concern and addressing that. We can find out why a particular circuit is interrupted, and what it needs to redress this imbalance. This is done using a range of techniques which may include nutritional aspects, (food sensitivity testing and deficiencies) emotional techniques, (EMDR) structural work, lymphatic techniques, neurovascular techniques and acupressure. Results can be profound, lasting and fast. It can sometimes surprise us but when we reveal the layers behind the symptoms and as we support the body with what it needs, the healing takes place like a cascade of dominoes.
How does Kinesiology work?
Our bodies are masters at finding homeostasis, redressing imbalances. But when there is a sustained imbalance, whether it is prolonged illness, stress, dietary concerns, trauma, accident, then the body starts to compensate for this in other ways. Over time this compensation becomes a pathological change and symptoms begin presenting themselves.

Your Kinesiology Consultation
Before your first kinesiology consultation you will be asked to fill out a detailed questionnaire relating to your general life circumstances and medical history. This allows the Kinesiologist to get a picture of your symptoms as well as your lifestyle and the general state of health ahead of the consultation.
Your initial consultation will take 75 minutes and a typical follow-up consultation will take one hour, during this time various tests will be conducted as deemed necessary, most of which will involve laying down on a treatment bench. There may be a need to re-balance certain systems and the Kinesiologist will guide you through the process and advise on any treatment that is being given along the way.
Depending on your symptoms and the treatment that has been recommended you may be sent some homework to support the work done in your consultation. In this way, it puts your health back into your hands going forward.
